The village of twins

Have you ever heard about the village of twins? This is the phenomenon of the Indian village with the population of 800 people where 40 pairs of twins live. The majority of the population are Muslims with a high percentage of familial marriages.

So scientists got interested in this villages and decided to investigate it with the aim to find out whether twins are the phenomenon genetic or not and if the gene responsible for the birth of twins exists.

The first twins of this village appeared 62 years ago. And one of twins told that his brother lived here when there were 60 pairs of twins in this village. But his brother died in the result of the accident.

Scientists made the analysis of the blood and DNA of twins and their parents. But this village is really the village of miracles. Scientists found the family where there were 10 children four of which were girls. It is considered to be the rare phenomenon.

Researchers also want to investigate the differences in the behaviour of twins and their susceptibility to diseases.
